It happened on the 2900 block of North 27th Street just after 8 p.m., authorities said.
Dolores Robinson was stabbed once in the left side of her neck and pronounced dead at the scene, detectives told Daily Voice. In a press conference on Thursday afternoon, police said she also suffered lacerations to the face and may have been shot with BB gun pellets.
The suspect, Robinson's 47-year-old neighbor Isiaih Rahatt, ran into a nearby house and was taken into custody without incident, according to the department.
Investigators believe that Rahatt followed Robinson inside her home where "a struggle ensued." The pair ended up on the front porch where Rahatt fatally stabbed her, PPD Staff Inspector Ernest Ransom told reporters Thursday.
